eSheBee is a brand name and development model that was launched in Bangladesh through an action research in 2014. It is a new kind of social Enterprise. Socio-economic development through the creation of individual social entrepreneurship is the key strategy of eSheBee.

eSheBee is a symbolic word that represents three major parts. 

# First part ‘e’ represents electronics, entrepreneurship and empowerment.

# Second part ‘She’ represents women and the third part ‘Bee’ has been used as a symbol of hard work.

Young women in remote, disadvantaged and rural areas are relatively deprived of most public and private sector opportunities. They live in poverty with other family members. eSheBee is bringing their products and services within reach of the market.

To develop cost-effective, contemporary and sustainable development models by developing social enterprises within the underprivileged women community through the maximum utilization of local resources in the empowerment of women through the use of innovation and technology.

eSheBee is a social entrepreneurship development model that develops the selected people in the backward community as social entrepreneurs.

Developed social entrepreneurs in addition to self-sufficiency, tackle gender discrimination in their own society, tackle other social issues including women’s economic empowerment.

eSheBee is a cost-effective, local resource based and bottom-up approach model. New ideas of entrepreneurial social responsibility, entrepreneurial entrepreneurship, training, research etc are important and interesting aspects of this model.

Bangladeshi social entrepreneur Mohammad Mosharrof Hossain conducted an action research in Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar district in 2014-15 and launched the eSheBee model with the participation of volunteers and local organizations. Later, in other parts of the country, the research was completed and extended to the fullest extent.

Innovation and the power of ICT  are best utilized in the implementation of eSheBee model. Such as baseline surveys, record keeping, communication, dissemination, monitoring and control, financial management, networking, e-commerce, e-agriculture, e-health, e-learning, e-services, etc.

Most of the training for the eSheBee model is started directly but continues and ends with e-learning. Most of the experienced and technology-rich trainers and consultants of Dhaka City conduct training courses using e-learning platform for eSheBee women entrepreneurs in remote areas.

ECC is a center that involves with eSheBee for providing support to the startup entrepreneurs  in generating business ideas and preparing business plans. It arranges regular B2B meetings, Workshops, Seminar, training, discussion for the interest of entrepreneurs. ECC is mentoring young entrepreneurs.

Individuals who work through voluntary work and carry out the social responsibility of the entrepreneur in implementing the eSheBee program are called eSheBee Associates or Associate Entrepreneurs.

The committed social entrepreneurs can be eSheBee Associate in the following areas:

1. Full confidence in eSheBee Model.
2. Partnership with the target community of  eSheBee.
3. Perform Entrepreneurs Social Responsibility and in this case, gender equality and deal with social challenges are given priority.

The entrepreneurial organizations that work through volunteering and assist the entrepreneur in fulfilling the social responsibility of implementing the eSheBee program are called Associate Enterprise or Associate Entrepreneurship of eSheBee.

Entrepreneurs committed to the following areas will be Associate Enterprise of eSheBee:

2. Partnership with the target community of  eSheBee.
3. providing support for perform entrepreneurs social responsibility

Own fund of eSheBee Enterprises,women entrepreneurs funds, their family members, associate entrepreneurs, associate venture companies, investors, venture capital investors, loan from private and financial institutions.

1. Contact with eSheBee Enterprises;
2. Need to scheduled communication/ meeting for making business ideas and plans through the process of eSheBee;
3. Participate in and sign business agreement preparation;
4. Investment and responsibility should be performed as per the terms of the contract.

Local organizations [NGOs, local government organizations (union parishad, panchayats, municipalities, upazila parishad, etc.), educational institutions, government service providers, clubs, social workers and volunteer groups] that supports in implementing the eSheBee program is called local support group.

Central supporting organizations [NGOs, educational institutions, multinational companies, business organizations, associations, networks, government organizations, clubs, social workers and volunteer groups] that  support and cooperate in the implementation of the eSheBee program is called central supporting organization.
